Instructor Assistant Wanted

The IA plays an important role in creating an environment conducive to our collective learning experience. UCLA has agreed to provide one FREE registration (last year was 50% off) for the Instructor Assistant for this program.

In return, the IA handles the following responsibilities:

Before the class:
* Arrive by 6:30pm
* Configure desks/chairs into the class format.
* Ensure A/V equipment is in the room, set up and functional
* Set up student name cards outside room
* Bring speaker water bottles to class (UCLA pays for it, we store them)

During the class:
* Take copious, accurate class notes and e-mailed to the instructor within 48 hours of the session.
* Maintain attendance records

After the class:
* Gather/store student name cards
* Help leave room in a relative state of cleanliness.

Ongoing
* Act as liaison with UCLA Extension regarding student issues: add/drop, grade/no grade, etc.

All in all, it's a pretty easy gig and a rewarding experience (according to those who have done it in the past). If this sounds interesting, please drop me a direct note via stevebrad at cyberstuff dot net.
